For our first hike of the season, we decided to hike around Summit County. We opted to hit the Mesa Cortina trail just off of Wildernest, and we followed it up around the flanks of Buffalo Mountain, around towards Lily Pad Lake, then down Salt Lick Gulch back to the bottom of Wildernest. The snow from winter still hadn't quite melted and the trail was soggy and snowy at the top, but otherwise it was quite a nice hike.
