We decided to take a week off and play in the mountains. We had grand visions of taking a road trip to Banff and Glacier, but we just didn't get our act together in time, so instead, we stayed in Silverthorne and had fun biking, hiking, and meeting with friends. We rode up to Vail Pass and Keystone, watched the sun rise, kayaked on Lake Dillon, had Lisa's parents up, then hiked a 14er with Shari, Brad, and Lonny, who stayed with us the night before.
Brian makes a small adjustment before setting off to Vail Pass We decided it"d be fun to ride up Vail Pass. We started in Frisco, and rode through Copper Mountain before reaching the summit. About 25 miles round trip.
This is what I married 7 years ago?

Morning sunlight hits Grays and Torreys Peak Lisa decided it"d be nice to watch the sunrise from Loveland Pass (thankfully, we used the car, not our bikes, to get to the top).

More alpenglow Frequently, the best part of a mountain sunrise isn"t the sunrise itself, but the alpenglow on the eastern facing slopes.
