Our destination was Fowler-Hilliard hut, perched at 11,500ft above sea level...just at tree line above Camp Hale, Colorado. We hiked/skied over 5.5 miles and 2700 ft of climbing to arrive at this newly reconstructed 10th Mountain Division Hut.
We had a smaller group this time around, down to 12 (from our total of 16), but we all had a fantastic time. The unrelenting wind slowed us down a bit on our off day, but one group managed to tackle Resolution Mountain and another managed to ski some turns behind the hut.
