Vance's Cabin is nestled adjacent to Ski Cooper at 10,980 feet. The trailhead for Vance's starts at Ski Cooper at the summit of Tennessee Pass. The hike in was a relatively easy 3 miles that only gained 550 feet of elevation. Our hike in was met with about 12 inches of falling snow which made for a wet and cold hike, but our off day had bluebird skies and gave us all a chance to dry out. On our rest day, some of us explored Taylor Hill just above the hut, others went much farther up to Chicago Ridge.
