Well, it seems that the Front Range gets hit with a sizeable storm about every 3 years, so we were about due (the last one hit in March of 2003, the same day I was supposed to defend my Masters Thesis). The weather forecasts had warned of this storm for a day or two, but in Colorado that can mean little (since the forecasts are frequently wrong). The storm ended up dropping 24" (officially) in our part of town, although where we placed the yardstick only showed a max of 18". The storm wreaked havoc on DIA, stranding lots of passengers, and cancelling flights (including the one that Brian's parents were supposed to fly in on), but overall, the city handled the storm better than in the past.
