Peter Estin hut is located south of Eagle, Colorado, perched on a ridge that overlooks the Frying Pan River valley. From the trailhead, it was about a 4.5 mile hike (2500 feet of elevation) in on an incredibly hot day in the spring. 13 of us spent the weekend in the hut. The 6 of us on skis enjoyed terrific skiing on our "rest" day just below the hut.
